Local before arrival
The blocks around the Karmelitermarkt have become a trendy area in recent years. Skopik & Lohn is one of the spots that is well worth a visit in this corner of the Leopoldstadt. Both visually and in terms of cuisine, it is a highly successful mixture of an upscale Viennese restaurant and a French bistro. The Wienerschnitzel and steak fries taste even better when dining under the wild ceiling painting by Austrian artist Otto Zitko, and the dessert selection in particular leaves nothing to be desired. Reservations are recommended.
