Virginie Fournier came to Shanghai twelve years ago. Since then, she has built a brand for accessories in Shanghai, and now has several stores. In creating purses, bags, and briefcases, Shanghai Trio uses materials such as silk and cotton or polyester with eye-catching colors: pink, orange, neon yellow, and brilliant blue—lively combinations whose origins are suggested by a knotted Chinese button or, like the practical travel bag, are based on the satchels carried by local postal workers.
