St. Peter’s Basilica is one of the largest churches in the world and an architectural masterpiece. The most famous architects of their time worked on the structure we see today. We have Michelangelo to thank for the incomparable dome, Carlo Maderna designed the façade, and Bernini is responsible for St. Peter’s Square. The 55 ft. wide colonnades of St. Peter’s Square allegorically encompass Rome and the world. Visitors will discover numerous art treasures inside the church.
