Although it reached global audiences through the hugely popular Brit flick Notting Hill, way before Hugh Grant and his floppy fringe made Portobello Market famous, this London institution was attracting visitors as far back as the 19th century. Antiques, crafts, fresh food, clothes – you name it, and chances are someone’s selling it on a rickety trestle along this historic stretch of street.
