Asmalı Mescit is lined with many small clubs, bars, and traditional taverns called “meyhanes.” On the weekends, when the narrow streets are crowded with Istanbul natives and tourists wanting to go out, this tiny bar is usually packed. Tuesdays feature a sing-along to Turkish beats—otherwise people dance to house or hits from the ’90s. Even if you just plan to stop by for one drink, you’ll probably end up lingering until the sun comes up.
