This authentically restored hamam dates back to 1580 and is one of the buildings designed by Mimar Sinan, one of the most significant Ottoman architects. Soldiers from the Ottoman navy once bathed here. As in the past, it is remains a location worth visiting. Make sure to book the traditional treatment, including the vigorous full body exfoliation that removes the outermost layer of your skin and leaves it velvety smooth. Note that a hamam is not a communal sauna: Women’s hours are until 4:00 pm; afterwards the hamam is open to men until midnight.
