Local before arrival
The name might sound like a center for children's art education, but this building actually presents an important milestone in the history of fine arts. In 1848, one of the world’s first art associations was founded at an assembly at the so called “Malkasten-Haus” in Düsseldorf Pempelfort. Nowadays, the well renowned restaurateur “Lido” brought the cultural monument back to life with its modern restaurant. The playful interior, designed by artist Rosemarie Trockel creates an ideal setting for the colorful plates, prepared in headchef Florian Ohlmann’s show kitchen.
