Local before arrival
Every Saturday, the former slaughterhouse grounds near the Feldstraße subway station turn into one of Hamburg’s most popular flea markets. While rummaging to their heart’s content, bargain-hunters and collectors haggle over antiques, clothes and curios. Tables stand end to end and friends meet for coffee and cake or push their way through narrow corridors both indoors and out. New merchandise is not sold here, but the market does provide an entertaining glimpse of other people’s discarded lives.
