FILMMUSEUM DÜSSELDORF
PHOTOS MAPS

From the original celluloid strip and the candlelight projector to the Dolby Digital sound and cinema in 3-D; the medium film has undergone a rapid development history in all its facets, which the Filmmuseum illustrates in detailed exhibits. Not far from the old port, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of moving images on four floors and literally look “behind the scenes” in a replica film studio. The museum also includes the cinema “Black Box” with a rare Welte theater organ for the musical accompaniment of silent films.
