Be forewarned: this is not the place to make a steal. The elegant sales floor of Coccodrillo is specialised in high-end footwear and has been an icon in the city for more than 30 years. Not far from Rubenshuis, this boutique served as the first sales point for brands like Dries van Noten, Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester. She ends up here again and again, admits fashion designer Maureen de Clercq. “If there is something I don’t believe in being thrifty about, then it’s shoes.”
