A few years ago, Brixton Village was a tired old place. But in recent times this charming covered market has had a rebirth, thanks to a whole new generation of sellers arriving to fill the arcades. Small family-run restaurants serving food from all over the world have popped up amongst retro stores and homeware shops. Our favourites are Honest Burgers and Kaosan – a Thai café specialising in fiery traditional fare, which is one of the best places to eat in London, hands down.
