ACQUARIO CIVICO
PHOTOS MAPS

Constructed for Milan International, the world’s fair held in Milan in 1906, this Art Nouveau building is the only structure that was not destroyed after the fair. The organizers chose to give it to the city, which until then had not had an aquarium of its own. Since that time, aquatic plants, fish, and mollusks made of ceramic or cement have decorated the façade, while their living counterparts fascinate visitors inside.
