Owner Adrienne Fish has an air of the shrewd librarian, and it’s no wonder: For 26 years she has assembled the city’s best collection of rare art books, and she’s more knowledgeable about California artists than most museum curators. There’s no better place to shop out-of-print titles, or just to admire and discuss the sketches, sculpture, and historical ephemera. 871 Fine Arts is a short walk from gallery row, and the art exhibits in the bookshop are reliably excellent.
