The Edison’s architects call this place “an industrial cathedral.” It’s a fine comparison. Where a 1910 power plant once stood, elegant guests kick up their heels far from the party-wild, twenty-something crowd. A series of bars, dance floors, and discreet nooks are built around original turbines, pipes, and Art Deco/Gothic décor. Cabaret, burlesque, and acrobatic shows continue throughout the evening, but to get in you have to brave long lines and get past the sneaker-averse bouncers.
