The wooden stands of Saint-Ouen boast an ever-growing collection of objets d’art, antiquities, and vintage clothes. Since its beginning in the 19th century, this flea market has evolved to be organized and categorized in such a way that it has become the ideal Sunday outing, Paris style: a unique chance to haggle over a bronze Louis XIII with a cone of hot chestnuts in hand. Most of the 3,500 merchants are true connoisseurs who will guide newcomers through the labyrinth of this “courtyard of miracles.”
