It quickly became a trendy place for the Parisian middle-class to purchase all kind of dresses, hats, and gloves—as described by Émile Zola in his 1883 novel “The Ladies’ Paradise.” Today, Le Bon Marché is a luxurious department store gathering the most prestigious brands and is seen as a promoter of new voices in fashion, design, and beauty.
