Local before arrival
This is where the city comes to life every Sunday. Whilst the shops are closed elsewhere in the city, the antique and furniture stores on Kloosterstraat open their doors. Only here will you find rare Biedermeier secretaries next to kitsch and trinkets. The shops are so full that the merchandise often extends all the way to the edge of the pavement. A minimal design shop next to a Christmas decoration store open year-round? Everywhere else nearly unthinkable, but not in Antwerp. The city’s residents love this part of their city.
