Frauenstein is considered as the gateway to the Rheingau and is known for its wine and its extensive apple and cherry tree fields which are beautifully placed between the vineyards. Visitors can expect a real eye-openance in April and May, when the orchard meadows unfold their white and pink blossoms. Especially in this time period we recommend a hike with camera to discover the beaty of nature in spring. Entrances to hiking paths are easy to find along the so called Kirschblütenstraße ¬– the German word for cherry blossom road. Those who want to extend their visual experience with a a gourmet pleasure would visit one of the numerous wineries.
