Local before arrival
Under the arched vaulted ceilings of this castle from the 14th century it’s all about steaks, steaks, and more steaks—whether it’s South American Angus beef, Hereford beef from the United States, or Weidemast Beef from Upper Austria. The attentive staff is courteous and helpful if you can’t decide when confronted with the wine list of 200 bottles. And by the way, owner Stefan Gergely is not just a restaurateur, but also a journalist and nonfiction author.
