Local before arrival
The extravagant new building housing the film museum feels like a spaceship from another galaxy. The old industrial grounds on the north bank of the IJ is a proven spot for experiments, and EYE is its latest popular attraction. The views from the restaurant and terrace are well worth a visit, but the venue’s popularity stems primarily from the films and exhibits available on the ground floor free of charge. A ferry for pedestrians and cyclists leaves from behind the main train station and crosses to EYE in just three minutes—it's also free.
