Local before arrival
Often called Jatujak or JJ by locals, this weekend market is one of the world’s largest, welcoming nearly half a million visitors every Saturday and Sunday. A visit here is great fun, and there’s a reason why many locals keep coming again and again: Get lost in the busy alleys and you’ll find everything and anything, from cheap clothes to fancy shoes, decoration items, flowers and plants, and even live animals. Go early to avoid crowds and heat.
