Joan Burstein and her husband Sydney opened the store in the ’70s – and they’ve been at the forefront of British fashion ever since. Known for their large window displays, they’ve launched the careers of many a fashion luminary, including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan – all given coveted window space at the store. But be warned – high fashion doesn’t come cheap, so bring plenty of kerching!
