Open for an outstanding 95 years, this café was taken under the management of two prominent New Yorker restaurateurs in 2014 before reopening. The Venetian frescos on the walls have been carefully restored and the red plastic covers of the diner chairs were traded for high-grade leather. The kitchen has been brought up to par with those of some finer establishments and is open for the diners’ viewing. Tosca was and is an institution in the city, drawing a vibrant crowd of local artists, politicians, and celebrities who come to wine and dine any time of day.
