With its 1922 Spanish Baroque façade, sumptuous red velvet ceiling, and gold-leaf interior, the Castro is a throwback to a time when cinema symbolized class and charm. Live organ music precedes both classic and new-release movies, and sing-along nights to favorites like “The Sound of Music” and “West Side Story” come with party favors for patrons. Among the many annual film festivals are “Noir City,” “Berlin and Beyond” (German), and, of course, “Frameline” (Gay and Lesbian).
