Local before arrival
This hostel straddles the border between the (in)famous Schanze and wild St. Pauli. Honored in 2014 with the German Design Award, it stands for innovative, fresh furnishing, and has a strong, do-it-yourself mentality: The beds in the double rooms and multiple-bed dorms bring soccer goals to mind, the hangers in each closet were once plungers, the armchairs fashioned from wheelbarrows. The Kitchen Club provides food and drink as well as occasional concerts for some quality entertainment.
