In 2007, Harald Falckenberg purchased one of the Phoenix halls in order to create exhibition space for approximately 2,000 contemporary works of art. The focus of the collection is American and German works of the last 30 years that project social caricatures with irony, cynicism and in the context of the counterculture. The works of Sigmar Polke, John Baldessari, and Jonathan Meese seem like painted monuments on the white walls of the hall, which are lit by neon lights.
