Local before arrival
Not all the tourists make it over the Bosphorus to find this place, which is why the crowds here aren’t as large. In 2003, the historic streetcar resumed service and now once again clatters from the Kadıköy pier toward Moda. This may well be the most affluent district in the area, and it is certainly the most fun. Kadife Sokak Street is lined with bars and restaurants, which is why it is often referred to as “Barlar Sokak” (bar street). Liman Kahvesi or Lal are outstanding bars for partying.
