Local before arrival
Fans of Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut” will love this venue. Georges Bizet supposedly wrote his famous opera in this grand 19th-century Hôtel particulier, with its dizzyingly high, stucco-decorated ceilings, and its giant mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and caryatids. It later became an upscale bordello, which is alluded to by the bar’s small lounges with beds and the giant aviary illuminated by muted candlelight. DJs set the mood and the barman’s personalized cocktails will delight the palate.
