Since 1912, luxury goods at Galeries Lafayette have been being bathed with a particular type of golden light, beaming out from the great, 110 ft. high dome, its metal framework sculpted with Art nouveau motifs. A surface of 30 acres ringed by rounded gold-leaf coated balconies, housing fashion labels and decorations of the highest prestige, which have often been discovered by the shop itself: Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin, Cacharel.
