Local before arrival
This mix of gallery and art center, which was created by Paulo Mendes da Rocha for, among others, photography graduates from the University of São Paulo, is hidden away at the end of Avenida Paulista. These graduates don’t limit themselves to producing photographs: They create sculptures and installations as well. The operators gave in and now host festivals, including VERBO—which shows international performance art.
