With designer Nitzan Cohen and a slender budget, Sandra Forster and Luc Nguyen took a dark, dusty tavern and transformed it into a friendly place—rescuing the outlying Untergiesing district from oblivion in the process. You can still see signs of the partly vegan Vietnamese restaurant’s Bavarian past, which is pretty cool. Charlie’s large, sunny outdoor area and the small downstairs bar make it absolutely irresistible.
