With its large and vibrant Jewish community, falafel is a staple in Antwerp. Beni Falafel is amongst the best, serving kosher and 100% vegetarian fare since 1973. The unpretentious shop isn’t much to look at, but the Israeli street food cannot be beat. Everything is homemade and it’s fascinating to watch the pita being prepared. The falafel is the best-seller, but the hummus, shakshouka and burekas are also worth a taste.
