The London Eye, on the south bank of the River Thames, quickly became a popular landmark on the London skyline when it opened in 1999, and today it attracts 3.5 million visitors a year. At 450 feet, it is one of the tallest sightseeing wheels in the world. It was the Mace Group who carried out this technically, creatively and logistically challenging £74 million project, with the space-shuttle-like capsules being completed in France before being transported to London.
