HAYWARD GALLERY
PHOTOS MAPS

This massive concrete building, opened in 1968, houses the Hayward Gallery and is a unique example of the architectural Brutalism style. Its raw appearance offers a contrasting backdrop to its temporary contemporary art exhibitions. The subsequently added glass pavilion, designed by artist Dan Graham, houses the experimental Hayward Gallery Project Space. The gallery is named after Sir Isaac Hayward, a former chairman of London County Council.
