Local before arrival
Opened in 2005, the Central Bus Station (ZOB) combines transportation, restaurants, retail, and entertainment. The exterior brings to mind the power head of a high-speed ICE train. The aluminum tubes that make up the building envelope are reminiscent of train tracks and allude to the nearby Hauptbahnhof. Say what you will about the interior design, Konstantin Grcic’s “Chair One” chairs in the waiting area are very stylish.
