WOCHENMARKT BOXHAGENER PLATZ
PHOTOS MAPS

Berliners affectionately refer to this square as “Boxi” and with its location in the heart of Friedrichshain, it is a central meeting point for the city. Sundays are busy due to the popular flea market and locals do their grocery shopping here on Saturdays between 9am and 3pm. From smoked eel to lemongrass, there is little reason to go elsewhere. Adhering to the international Slow Food Movement, many of the products are from local producers. If you need a break from the shopping, you can grab a seat on either the grass or on one of the benches, perfect for a round of people watching.
