Local before arrival
Buddakan is a veritable temple to Asian cuisine, located in the trendy Meatpacking District. Everything is gigantic here: chandeliers hang from the high ceilings, statues of Buddha and ancient pottery are exhibited. Music pumps through the speakers and creates a nightclub vibe. Asian-inspired cocktails infused with lychee or ginger are poured and the wine list offers an upscale sake selection. The entrees include lobster with black beans as well as sweet and sour crispy pork.
