Local before arrival
“Anyone who enters here should give up any hope of coming out before morning. Or of coming out the same as he went in.” So wrote playwright Heiner Müller in describing the allure of the West-German legend on Kantstraße. The bar—actually an Austrian-run restaurant serving French fare until 1 am—has a resolute character. For that and for its authentic patina, not only director Rainer Werner Fassbinder loved it; many others have fallen for it just as much.
