This living theater of Parisian history has seen the blood of the Revolution flowing down its very alleys, and its flower beds covered by giant structures during the Universal Exhibition—this is a past that we can barely imagine today as we sit with friends around a picnic basket on the green lawns. The city also organizes free exhibitions and concerts here. The sole witnesses to the history of the park remain the statues that punctuate the walkway from the military school to Trocadéro.
