The milk bar is open all day: for coffee, for provisions from the well-stocked delicatessen, or for a leisurely meal. It’s true, the bar serves milk, but not exclusively, there’s an extensive ‘wine list’… by which they mean have a look at the incredible wine shelf and pick a bottle or three to have in the restaurant, or take home. Owners Michel Péclard and Florian Weber describe their place as ‘a house of culinary delights’, where one can ‘feast, relax, feel good, and be happy’. It’s enough to make you want to spend the night, and you can – the catch is there’s only one room and they don’t take bookings. To stay, you need to win it at auction. It’s worth making a bid; the room was designed by renowned Swiss artist Max Zuber.
