Joe opened his classic pizza joint, now located on a Greenwich Village corner beside Avenue of the Americas, in 1975. He emigrated from Naples in the ’50s and worked in pizza restaurants all over the Northeast before opening his own place in the Village. Locals clearly appreciate his in-depth knowledge of the classic slice, because Joe’s is consistently rated as one of the top ten pizzerias in the city. For many discerning palettes, it represents the true taste of New York.
