Local before arrival
In the fall of 2013, after extensive restoration work had been completed, this special baroque gem opened its doors to the public for the first time in its history. The Winterpalais was originally constructed as a stately residence for the prince. It was acquired by Empress Maria Theresa in the 18th century before being used for the Court Treasury and later as the Ministry of Finance. Now it is a center for art and culture once more.
