Local before arrival
The owners of The Fat Radish opened this sophisticated venue for live blues, jazz, ragtime, and bossa nova. They serve cocktails, oysters, and selected dishes in a room with antiqued walls, mid-century furniture, and nostalgic Americana trimmings, courtesy of Kate Dougherty, one of Wes Anderson’s set decorators. The artfully crafted setting is as inviting as the cocktails, especially the neighborhood favorite, the East Pole Manhattan, a soothing mix of rye, amaro, cherry brandy, and bitters.
