SCHWULES MUSEUM
PHOTOS MAPS

“I am gay, and that’s a good thing!” In 2001, Berlin’s governing mayor Klaus Wowereit outed himself as a homosexual, and three years later, as a patron, he opened the permanent exhibit of the Schwules Museum. This museum now houses one of the most comprehensive collections in the world about homosexuality. In addition to changing exhibitions featuring different artists, the museum focuses on presenting biographies of well-known homosexuals.
