Local before arrival
In 2008, Christian Boros and his wife Karen Lohmann opened a private museum for contemporary art in a World War II–era bunker. The featured artists, including Olafur Eliasson and Ai Weiwei, installed and staged their works themselves, some of which were created especially for this location. The private collection is open for viewing only on weekends by appointment, which can be made on the Web site.
