Local before arrival
The boulevard at the heart of the city is the Champs-Élysées of Barcelona. During its construction in the 19th century, the rich bourgeoisie invested a fortune in the elegant buildings. Many architectural gems of art nouveau can be found next to Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. The boulevard is also famous as the most popular shopping street in the city. All the famous textile companies, flagship stores of large brands, jewellers, and fine hotels are to be found here.
