Fitting, since it sits walking distance from the foggy waves of Ocean Beach, and its menu of thick soups, sourdough bread, and fresh seafood has been nourishing cold, hungry surfers since its inception. People pack in after hiking at Lands End or lounging at Baker Beach, but the homespun gourmet food is worth the wait—especially the Dutch pancakes at Sunday brunch.
