First open to the public under Napoleon, the Jardin du Luxembourg and its ornate, gold-plated central area welcome anyone from students to Parisians simply out for a stroll. With 57 acres at the center of the Quartier Latin, the park can be the setting for all sorts of outings, whether wandering between the flower beds, playing sports, beekeeping for beginners, visiting an exhibition in the shade of the Orangerie, or simply daydreaming on the Fermob chairs which were specially designed for the gardens.
