The grande dame of Bangkok’s department stores, Emporium is an upper-class shopping complex catering to tourists and HiSo (the city’s young, wealthy elite, as locals call them) during the day. The Gourmet Market even has announcements in Japanese, English, and Chinese. After bargain hunting for the latest luxury goods, make sure not to miss the exhibitions at TCDC, or stop for a coffee and some cake at It’s Happened to be a Closet on the 2nd floor.
