Local before arrival
Dover Street Market in Mayfair was created by the designer Rei Kawakubo from Comme des Garçons, who had a new retail concept to test out. Between bare walls and steel girders there are shops of famous designers spanning over six floors – from Alber Elbaz and Yves Saint Laurent to – of course – Comme des Garçons, each designing their own settings. This market is therefore not just a great address for a shopping trip, but something of a real life art installation.
